The Absalom Jones Episcopal Center for Racial healing is excited to post "Get Woke" a documentary by John Atkinson. John was a senior in High School when he completed his Eagle Project (9/24/2019), an Eagle service project that is required to earn the highest rank in Scouting, the Eagle Rank. He chose this project to raise social consciousness at a level never seen before. In the documentary, he interviewed a plethora of professionals and students from different racial, ethnic, religious, and sexual orientation backgrounds. This ranged from a Harvard Med professor to the mayor of Roswell, Ga. John is the last person in the documentary. His goal is to make our society worthy of future generations; and this is just the beginning his work, which is inline with our daily mission of dismantling personal prejudice and ending systemic racism.
