The Men-U: An Interactive cooking event for collegiate men

Meals always taste better when they are made with love and shared with friends. Today, we had a celebrity chef, B.J. Weston come to our center and teach the young men of Morehouse College and Clark Atlanta University how to create a delectable meal sure to win hearts. First, they started with an entire chicken learning each part, where to cut and separate the pieces, and how to season it to perfection. Next, it was time for rice pilaf, a special way of cooking rice using the stovetop and the oven. The special ingredient was the garlic butter mixed with seasoning such as oregano, paprika, and basil. The guys weere especially excited because they were able to take the butter home to use at their leisure at home. Lastly, string beans were sauteed with the perfect crunch. After the food was plated, we were able to dig in and share thoughts and ideas for bringing more young men to the table to converse about how to enhance our community at large. The ladies were slightly jealous that they could not participate in this "men's only" event, next time, we all will meet at the table, together!
